General Information

Important Dates

Information Night: Wednesday, November 7th at 7pm at the Pepperell Community Center (downstairs).

Ski Dates: Fridays from January 4th to February 8th at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area.

If a skiing day is cancelled (and it usually is at least once), a make-up date will be scheduled for February 15th.

Ski Equipment Storage while in School

Equipment can be stored at the school on the Fridays of the program. Please drop off your equipment in the morning, before school. The equipment will be locked and inaccessible until the busses arrive to pick up for the trip to the mountain. The schools will be locked when we return so all belongings must bNissittissit Drop offe taken out of the equipment rooms and brought onto the bus.

Nissitissit Middle School:

Skis and equipment should be dropped off each Friday morning between 7:30am and 8:00am at the small parking lot near the gym on the left side of the building.

NM Regional High School:
Skis and equipment should be dropped off each Friday morning between 6:30am and 7:00am. The ski equipment room is still being worked out with the school and an update will be sent once it is determined.

Books and Personal Property

The school will be closed and locked when we return so all books, backpacks, ski equipment and personal belongings need to be brought on the bus with the student or alternative arrangements should be made. Backpacks and other non-ski equipment can be left on the bus while we are at the mountain, however the Pepperell Recreation Department, the bus company, the chaperones, and the coordinator are not responsible for lost or stolen articles. Any items left on the bus will not be accessible while at the mountain since the busses park in a distant lot.

Bus Transportation

The bus cost for our six week session will be $90.00 and the bus fee will be charged for all on-line registrations.  If you do not plan to take the bus, (ex. a parent purchasing a pass) please send me an email and I’ll have Wachusett refund the fee back to your credit card.

The busses will leave Nissitissit Middle School and NMRHS at 2:30pm. Attendance will be taken on the bus and lift passes will be distributed.

At the end of the night, the busses will be ready for boarding around 7:45pm and will leave Wachusett Mountain at 8:00pm sharp. Any student who fails to be on the bus by 8:00pm and causes the return to be delayed may jeopardize their future privileges.

All busses will return to Nissitissit Middle School at approximately 9:00pm. Everyone will be cold and tired and the school will not be open. It is important to be prompt and pick up your child on time.

Parents Picking Up at Wachusett

Parents who wish to pick up their child from Wachusett MUST inform the coordinator in writing (note/email) prior to the buses departure from Pepperell. The person picking up the student must stop by the chaperone table at Wachusett Mountain before 7:30pm to confirm they are present to pick up the student. No student will be allowed to remain at the ski area without making arrangements with the coordinator in advance.

Medical Information and Treatment Authorization

After you register through the Wachusett website, I’ll send you the Medical Form. This form has parent/guardian contact information and medical contact numbers in case your child is hurt at the mountain. All first aid at the mountain is administered by the Ski Patrol and a copy of this information will be provided to them. If your child is hurt, every effort will be made to contact the parent/guardian or the designated emergency contact.

Code of Responsibility

The Program has about 10 chaperones available to help students but students are not directly supervised at all times. Students need to be responsible for themselves, their equipment, and be able to ask for help when necessary.

No eating or drinking will be allowed on the bus. Students may bring snacks and food to be eaten at the mountain. Wachusett Mountain also has good food services, although skiing time is limited and the mountain cafeteria can be expensive.

Inclement Weather and Cancellation

If either the school district or Wachusett is not open due to inclement weather, the program will be cancelled that night and a make-up date will be scheduled. If the school and Wachusett are both open but the Pepperell Recreation Department, in conjunction with the bus company, decides that travel is unsafe, skiing that day will be cancelled and a make-up date will be scheduled. Even though the school and Wachusett are open, skiing might also be canceled due to especially bad weather such as rain or severe cold. It is possible that lessons will not be available during the make-up day.

If a cancellation occurs after school starts on Friday, it is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to arrange pick-up of the student’s equipment that Friday. No equipment may be left overnight at the schools.

If the program has been cancelled due to inclement weather or school closing and you would like to go to Wachusett anyway, you will receive 50% OFF lift and rental purchases when you present your program ID badge to the Customer Service or Group Sales Counter. Contact the coordinator to get your badge for the day.

Cancellations will be announced via an email as well as announcements at Nissitissit Middle School and NMRHS.

Terrain Park: Wachusett has a Terrain park which includes jumps, rails, tabletops, and other terrain park features. To provide a safer environment for all riders and skiers in the terrain park, Wachusett has instituted the Terrain Park Safety Program. The goal is to increase safety by limiting access to the terrain park to those skiers and riders who can safely navigate the park and its features.  Here is the link to Wachusett’s Park Pass

Skiers and riders who do not have a Park Pass may use the smaller terrain park features located on Frannie’s Folly, and Sundowner trails and in other locations around the mountain.

The Park Pass can be distributed and collected with the Student Lift Badge.

Absentee Credit: If a student misses a ski day, they will receive a transferable $20 coupon valid during the 2017-2018 season toward a full price lift ticket, and cannot be applied to next season. When students want to redeem their absentee coupon, they will need to go to the Customer Service or Group Sales Counter. The coupon is transferable (i.e. you can give it to someone else).
